How to use images in your blog LEGALLY and how to use images ETHICALLY.
Most likely the content of your blog refers to newsworthy or educational
publications and the risks of being sued for using an image without credits to
Author are not great.
The question is - did you think how much money and time the artist spends to
produce a good image?
On Wednesday, 5/20, the forums will be offline for about an hour starting at 1 pm MST for maintenance.
Nothing exciting, no new features or functionality. Just some routine stuff that needs to be done. I’ll keep iStockScoop updated when we are back online. You can also follow on twitter:
7/23/09, 20 Cheesiest Pick-up Lines to Use on Graphic Designers»»

Here are some ice-breakers cheesier than Cheez Whiz guaranteed to help you find someone to love, to hold and to go halfers on a new copy of Photoshop CS4 with you. Read more..
All year long, designers pit their skills against each other in the iStock Steel Cage. If you don’t know the drill, it’s simple: a contender creates an original design. Their opponent takes the Photoshop® file and changes it, combining the existing elements with new images to create something new. Whoever creates the most impressive, original, eye-popping artwork wins.
Every year, we bring together our seasoned Cage veterans, along with some hungry newcomers, for a marathon tournament: the Battle Royale. It’s a gruelling schedule, full of late nights and countless hours tweaking layer masks and lighting effects. It isn’t for the faint of heart.

4/15/09, Ranked Keywords Best Match 2.0 Now Live»»
After a long time in development and several months of internal testing, we’re happy to present our new default search sort: Best Match 2.0.
The algorithm takes many factors into account. One of these, keyword relevance, rates the importance of keywords in the files. Files can have up to 50 keywords, but normally only a few of those keywords describe the primary subject or concept.Â
If you open your advanced search tab, you’ll see a new slider up in the top right corner, underneath the sort options. This lets you tweak your best match sort.Â
Setting the best match sort slider to “high” causes the search engine to prioritize files with those primary subject keywords.
Setting the best match sort slider to “low” gives more prominence to the other factors (similar to the old Best Match).
The default position is right in the middle. It will stay wherever you set it from session to session, so after you’ve logged in and out, you’ll still have the same setting you last used.
But does it work?
Yes. Yes it does.
Okay, go into your advanced search tab, and pull your slider all the way to the left. This is going to give you a very best-match heavy ranking. Now search for cheese.
You’re going to see a lot of really good looking files, with quite a few flames up on the top. All these files have cheese in them, sure, but cheese isn’t necessarily the focus. You’ve got a lot of cheeseburgers, pizzas, and food icon sets.
Now, pull the slider into the middle and search for cheese again.
See the difference? There’s still some pizza and a few burgers, but suddenly there are a lot of isolated pieces of, well, cheese. You’ve got edam, swiss, and cheddar, all by themselves.Â
If you pull it all the way to the right for a mainly keyword-relevance weighted sort, you’ll get even more images of just cheese.Â
You can tweak the slider depending on your particular search. It’s like a sort within a sort, and it gives you a really great way of refining your results around a particular keyword. A “high” slider position is good for finding exactly what you want. A “low” slider position is good for brain-storming: you’ll get a variety of good files.
For our clients, we’re really excited to be giving you this customization option. At the end of the day, it’s all about giving you the best possible results when you search. And the best way to do that is to give you as much control as possible over what you see.
For our contributors, we hope that by increasing the number of best match combinations out there, it will mean more of your files are seen and downloaded.
we'll ive tried the sensor cleaning method as prescribed by several online who have tried it. I've tried it numerous times at different shutter speeds and iso's and nothing! only thing that does work is when you boost up the noise reduction which is not a true solution.
I got the body on 12/21/08 and never used live view or video till recent 2-3 months. I started shooting video and using live view for some night shooting a few weeks ago. I check for dust almost daily and for dead pixels every few weeks. There was no noticeable pixel death rate for the first few months of use but between my last check about 2 months ago to the one about one month ago I've noticed big changes. I only send the camera in a few days ago as I wanted to buy another 5d2 so I wont be cameraless as I did not have a backup. When I get this one back I'll see the results, I'll only use one for video and I'll compare both in a few months to see if there are any significant differences. in case I forget to or get lazy feel free to pm me for feedback on the issue.
or maybe the pixel death rate has something to do with unemployment, maybe the sensor is firing the lazy pixels. Listen Mr. sensor I need every little one of those guys!
11/16/09, Request New Content: Food and other images to match Candle Scents»»
Hi everyone! Sorry, I was away for a week because my husband's grandfather passed away. Thanks much for all your feedback and for the new pictures you all shared. I will take a look at them over the next few days. I downloaded some tonight including several of the almond biscotti pics that were previously approved.
I updated my first post. Please go back to the beginning of this thread to see a complete list of scents that I already downloaded! Thanks StrayCat for the suggestion!
Oh and I decided to create a Public Lightbox with these candle related scents! I will start it next week, because I am very busy this week. After I have added a bunch of your photos to the lightbox, I will share with other distributors in the company. So, if I don't download your images, maybe one of the many other distributors will!
Beano5: I love the Coconut Mango photo. I hope it is approved. I like the coconut one by itself too, but they do not have that scent. lol, I might download it anyway, just in case I decide to use it for something else!
Dirkr: I LOVE the Sweet Orange amp; Chili Pepper photo! Thanks much! I downloaded the first one you shared...I might go back to grab one of the others too.
Andoteri: I love your holiday cookie photos. I will be checking out your portfolio after I finish this post.
KCline: I grabbed the Harvest Time pic that you shared. Love it!
Nazreen: Yes, that is the Pomegranate pic I downloaded! Thanks much!
CarolGomez: Thanks much! I look forward to seeing your new Fresh Laundry pics! I am in no rush. I already have enough for my website, so the new pics I download will be for my newsletters, ecards, gift tags, etc.
Thanks for the other pomegranate photos that were shared. I will add it to the lightbox after I create it!
Thanks again to all of you! Sorry, I am in a rush and can't respond to all of your messages, but I promise I am checking each and every one of your portfolios!
